Our Mission

We believe every Australian deserves access to honest, knowledgeable guidance when exploring the wonderful world of cider. Our mission is to educate, inform, and inspire cider lovers across the country, from curious beginners to seasoned connoisseurs.

Our Story

Best Cider Australia was born from a simple frustration: finding quality information about Australian ciders was unnecessarily difficult. In a country blessed with world-class apple and pear orchards, from the cool climates of Tasmania to the heritage groves of the Adelaide Hills, the craft cider scene has blossomed into something truly remarkable. Yet reliable, comprehensive resources for consumers remained scarce.

Our founding team came together in 2024, united by a shared passion for craft cider and a belief that Australian cidermakers deserve greater recognition. Between us, we've visited dozens of cideries across every cider-producing region in Australia. We've sat with orchardists in Huon Valley discussing heritage apple varieties like Sturmer Pippin and Cox's Orange Pippin. We've watched master cidermakers in Orange, NSW, carefully blend wild-fermented batches. We've tasted everything from bone-dry, tannic farmhouse ciders to refreshing, fruit-forward pear perries.

This hands-on experience shapes everything we do. When we recommend a cider, it's because we've actually tasted it. When we explain the difference between a Kingston Black and a Granny Smith in cider production, it's because we've seen these apples being pressed. When we discuss fermentation techniques, it's informed by conversations with the people who've dedicated their lives to perfecting this ancient craft.

We're not here to simply sell products. Our goal is to build Australia's most trusted cider resourceβ€”a place where you can learn about different cider styles, understand what makes a quality cider, discover food pairing possibilities, and ultimately find products that match your personal taste preferences. Whether you prefer a crisp, dry cider with a long, tart finish or something sweeter and more approachable, we're here to guide your journey.

Today, Best Cider Australia serves thousands of cider enthusiasts across the country. We're proud to champion local producers, support the growth of Australia's craft cider industry, and help everyday Australians discover their perfect pour. The cider renaissance is happening right now in Australia, and we're thrilled to be part of it.
